The Challenge
Design a complete brand identity and digital presence for an Italian restaurant on King's Road, Chelsea — one of London's most prestigious addresses. The challenge was to communicate the full rhythm of Domus259, from the first morning espresso to a candlelit dinner, without falling into the clichés of Italian restaurant branding. The identity needed to feel rooted, authoritative and timeless — something that could hold its own in the heart of Chelsea.
The Approach
The brand concept was born from a classical source: the chalice held by Bacchus, Roman god of wine, pleasure and conviviality. The symbol distills everything Domus259 stands for — the ritual of gathering, the generosity of Italian hospitality, the pleasure of good food and wine shared at the right table. I developed the complete visual identity around this icon, building a pictogram with precise geometric construction and applying it across a visual system that balances warmth and restraint. For the website, the approach mirrored the restaurant's philosophy: simple, honest, unforgettable. A clean architecture that guides the user from breakfast through to private dining, with the same unhurried elegance of the experience itself.
The Solution
The result is a cohesive digital ecosystem — brand identity, visual language and website — that positions Domus259 as a genuine Italian home in London. A place where every detail is composed with care, from the logo's classical references to the website's fluid navigation. Design & development handled end-to-end, from visual strategy to live implementation at domus259.co.uk.
