The Challenge
Hanged Empress is a brand born from the deep contradictions of a family heritage: a weave of Italian folklore, mysticism, and the high tradition of ecclesiastical seamstresses. The challenge was to design a digital experience that went beyond a simple e-commerce site, creating a sensory journey capable of conveying this complexity—merging the "sacred" of craftsmanship with the "profane" of creative experimentation.
The Approach
To capture the brand’s soul, the website’s design approach was guided by the concept of "meticulous attention." I developed a narrative structure that gives space to both the visual richness of the fabrics and the mysticism of domestic rituals. The aesthetic blends contemporary minimalism with almost esoteric details, using white space to allow the stories of the objects to breathe and a fluid navigation that leads the user through the intersection of tradition and innovation.
The Solution
The result is hangedempress.com, a website that functions as a "digital love letter." Through a clean yet atmospheric design, I created a showcase where upcycling and tradition coexist harmoniously. Each section of the site invites discovery, reflecting the brand’s philosophy: giving new life to forgotten stories through an aesthetic that is simultaneously ancient and profoundly modern.
